TRIPLE the Photo Opportunities

With three babies in our home, my Mom took three times as many pictures as she normally does
(and she normally takes a lot)

For the most part my cousins and I were very cooperative

...and other times we decided that we had had enough

(The DEFINITE end of one photo opportunity)

Cousins Weekend

I had so much fun meeting my cousins
We laughed the whole weekend and didn't even cry
(...well maybe just a couple of times)

A Weekend of FIRSTS

I was invited to my FIRST birthday party

to celebrate Hazel's FIRST birthday

FIRST I played with all her new toys

and then I tried my FIRST (and it won't be my last) Popsicle

I also had my FIRST smooch from an adorable boy
(who is not my Daddy, grandpa, uncle, or grown-up friend)

FIRST he spit out his pacifier and then he gave me a big wet FIRST kiss on my head

He just celebrated his FIRST birthday too!



This upcoming weekend I get to meet my twin cousins for the FIRST time. Can't wait, but FIRST I have to take a nap!

Food fascination

I have a new fascination...
FOOD

I like to try (well, by try I mean put in my mouth) what my parents are eating

At times I even prefer playing with food to my own toys

I get so excited when I see a bowl and spoon

But I'll admit I'm often disappointed by the actual taste
(have you ever tasted rice cereal?)

I'm just waiting for something better to come along

...and finally it came...
carrots!
I LOVE them (just like my Daddy)

Doctor's prescription

Yesterday I had my 6-month check up.

Everything was almost perfect...


I've gained 3lbs 3oz, grew two inches, and met all my developmental milestones
Everything except my sleeping habits.

The prescription...sleep training (whatever that means)

Dr. Youseff told me that I'm a smart baby
(must be because my head is in the 90th percentile in size--yes, I know it is a bit disproportional since my weight is only in the 8th percentile). I know that if I cry my parents will come pick me up
...so what is the point of trying to soothe myself...I like to be held... and at all times...

Plus there are perks for my parents too. Like for Mother's Day when I woke up every hour from 1am to 6am I was really just trying to extend the celebration of your first Mother's Day Mom!


Well, sleep training here we come....
I'm a bit nervous (and so are my parents)

My Vacation

To celebrate my Dad taking his big test, we decided to take a vacation...and boy what a vacation it was (for me!)

Lake Michigan was beautiful...I loved it!!!

But the water was way too cold

(didn't love it)


I swung on my first swing
and loved it!!!

I got rides all over the town

and loved it!!!

I decided (once again) that naps just aren't for me
(here my Dad is reading to me from his internal medicine textbook since I won't go to sleep)

I even got to watch two movies with my parents since I just couldn't fall asleep at night

...and loved it!!!

We finished our vacation by...seeing more tulips, and I loved it!!!
