I love...

THE SUN!!

Introducing...

my favorite toy
Saint Sophie, the giraffe..
(and what seems like my parents best friend since they don't leave home without me and her)

yes, this is in fact her real name, just google it

I'm especially fond of her nose and mouth

She makes a squeak that always makes me laugh, even in the midst of crying
(perhaps this is why my parents don't leave home without her)

As the world turns...

SAD..

HAPPY...

SAD...

My new special blanket

Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you so much for my new special blanket, which I've heard you both call my "straight jacket." I can now sleep peacefully again (in 4 hour intervals, in stead of 2) now that I am once again tightly swaddled. You see, I outgrew all the swaddling blankets you used to use and as a result was able to get out minutes after you wrapped me up. The second my hand reached my face, I woke up (you see for some reason when I'm sleeping my hands do crazy things
if they aren't tightly wrapped to the side of my body--like take out my binkie, or hit my face). This meant I was waking up frequently (and I guess that also means you were waking up frequently, I know, like seven times a night--sorry Mom, I guess Dad can sleep through my cries at night). What can I say, I'm getting stronger. But boy, this new blanket does the trick by using something called...velcro...absolutely amazing (and I know you both totally agree)!
Love,
Anne

A Special Day

This past Sunday was a very special day for me.
I was given a name (mine of course is Anne) and a beautiful blessing by my Dad. This is a special tradition in our church. I was so lucky to have family and many special friends attend. Thank you all so much for coming!

Me in my blessing dress--the same one that my Mom wore when she was blessed as an infant.

Me, my Dad, and my Grandpa David

My Mimi Carole Ann, my Mom Brooke Ann, my Grandma Tricia Anne, and me.
We all share something in common...Anne

Spring

Spring has arrived (at least for the day)!

and just in case you were wondering, the pink cloth is to keep me tidy (if you know what I mean)

Milestones

I am sorry it has been a while since I've posted...
I've been busy (and so have my parents) trying to meet my four-month "developmental milestones" or the things that I am supposed to be able to do by four months
(the pediatrician reassured my parents that it is all approximate dates)

Lift up my head from off the floor...check

Grab a toy or rattle...not so much.
I still enjoy my hands so much I don't see any need to grab a toy (but boy are my parents trying to get me to do so)

Smile...definite check

Recent Discoveries

Some things I've recently discovered...

I like books. No, I can't read them yet, but I enjoy the pictures.

I love to people watch (which is also one of my Mom's favorite activities). Here we are people watching together at JFK airport--tons of fascinating people to watch. I'll forgo any nap to get to watch other people, and did for three straight days while we were in NY.

I weigh double digits!!!
Today I had my four month check up. I weigh 10 lbs 10oz--must be why I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe, although you can't tell from this picture. I also got two shots (notice my sad face and the band-aid on my thigh)--ouch!

Happy Birthday Great-Great-Aunt Margaret!

Today is my great-great-aunt's 100th birthday!
Happy Birthday Aunt Margaret!!

This past weekend I attended her 100th birthday party. It was my first birthday party and boy,
what a celebration it was!

Everyone wanted to take pictures of us together since I was the youngest and she was the oldest.

My Mom adores Aunt Margaret and was so excited that I could finally meet her.

Four generations
Aunt Margaret, Mimi, my Mom, and me

Exhausted after all the festivities--can you believe I actually fell asleep without being swaddled?
